As a visual and performance artist, Pashias’ practice is grounded in the field of performance art through the creation of live performances, video performances, installations and performance photography. By establishing the artist’s body as the basic material for creation, Pashias sets up performances in the form of a situation or an environment, where the artist’s body meets the bodies of audience members in order for ‘action’ and ‘re-action’ to take place. This connection can be paralleled to the relationship of an individual to society, as the artist’s body is dismantled into a set of pieces, physical parts, habits or ideas, and it is offered for consumption in order to be received or perceived by others.

Pashias has graduated from Goldsmiths University (BA Fine Art & History of Art, 2010) and Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design (MA Performance Design & Practice, 2011) in London. Whilst presenting three solo exhibitions in Cyprus and Greece, he has also represented both countries in international organizations, such as the 7th Venice Arte Laguna Prize, the 4th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art, the 15th Biennale de la Méditerranée and the 2nd Moscow International Biennale for Young Art.

His work has also been included in group exhibitions and international festivals taking place in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Russia, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Sweden, Bulgaria and Turkey. In 2013, Pashias co-founded the epitelesis - Performance Art Foundation based in Athens, as an attempt to concentrate and disseminate the work of visual artists in performance art. Through the foundation, Pashias has curated a number of exhibitions and series of live events on the relationship of performance art to other artistic practices.

During his artist’s residency at Institut Supérieur des Beaux Arts de Besançon, Pashias presented the live performance and installation “Vandalism #1 (5 Blue Lines)” for the exhibition “Eidos / Un art contemporain de Grèce” and the live performance “>press<” in collaboration with Hugo Schüwer-Boss for the festival “Excentricités V (Le Banquet)”. At the same time, Pashias co-curated with Demosthenes Agrafiotis the exhibition “The in-Tension #2″, produced by epitelesis - Performance Art Foundation, featuring the work of international performance and photography artists. In 2014, his work was also presented in the events “Jour du Feu” and “Le sceau du Doubs”.
